One of my friends and I have this ongoing back and forth about not needing to be a "foodie" in order to enjoy food at its best. This place is a very good example of what I mean by this. This is the kind of place a "foodie" would appreciate, at the very least. My coworkers and I practically planned our Last Suppers here. If you want to impress a date or show someone how much you love them by having a romantic night filled with good food, this place will do it. We felt like we were in a place of decadence with the quality of service and food to match but comfortable even in fairly casual wear and chatting as if we were in a coffee shop. My coworkers said the martinis they had were among the best they'd ever had (and I've seen them toss back a few). We had a burrata cheese and meat plate to start, passed around a scrumptiously light but tasty green salad, and then tried both the swordfish special as well as their salmon. Sides are family style, so we shared the butternut squash, mushrooms, and asparagus. Dessert was a salted caramel bread pudding. Came out to about $65/pp. seriously not bad for all we got and licked off our plates. Last Supper quality meal. You do not have to be a foodie in order to appreciate this place, but it's a foodie's dream all the same.

Beautiful building and atmosphere as soon as you walk in. You know you are in St. Pete because of all the beautiful art work around the establishment from local artists. Very nice and comfortable seats and chairs at the bar. The service was excellent. We were very pleased by the efficiency of the orders and food arriving at the same time & very hot. Just the way I like it. Cocktails we had were balanced and delicious. Turkish rose was probably my favorite. Nice wine list for winos as well. I had the caveman wedge salad and it was very yummy. Their French onion soup is southern style & it has a bit of sweetness from the onions with a kick of nice seasoning at the end. I was unlike most French onion soup I have tried but I really enjoyed it. For red meat lovers there are options between corn or grass fed steaks to choose from. Many delicious sides to pair with you favorite meats. The temperature of the meat was to our liking. We definitely enjoyed our experience & will be back soon.

My boyfriend and I decided to go to Rococo Steak as a celebratory dinner after getting some good news at work. We made reservations, and when our night came we had such a treat in store! From the moment we walked in we were surrounded with classy, sophisticated, and serene surroundings. We were seated in a plush booth on one side and comfy chairs on the other, which we opted to ignore for the romantic side by side in the booth. We were greeted by Joshua, our waiter extraordinaire who promptly brought us 2 glasses of water and took our drink orders. When we were ready he told us about their menu and made some wonderful suggestions. We started off with the Flight of Bacon which had 3 types of bacon with 2 pieces each. We had a duck bacon, a wild boar, and the standard applewood smoked bacon. The pieces were arranged in a fan manner with maple syrup in a little gravy boat on the other side of the plate. Being a coastal southern girl I opted for the fresh oysters on the half shell from Martha's Vineyard. They were deliciously juicy, with the perfect mix of salt and oyster. I didn't even need the horseradish or lemon. They were all laying on a bed of ice, and the lemons were cut in half with a nice little catch to make sure no seeds got in the way of our wonderful oysters. For the main course, we chose the filet. I had the boneless 7 ounce grass fed filet, and my boyfriend chose the 16 ounce bone-in corn fed filet. The sides are served family style so as to be shared by the table, so we picked the anaheim creamed corn. The steaks were cooked to a perfect med-rare, almost like a Pittsburgh style, and served on a beautiful and simple plate. The creamed corn was a beautiful yellow corn, fresh off the cob, mixed with anaheim peppers, sweet onion, and a light chipotle seasoning. To finish off such a wonderful meal we HAD to get dessert! Being partial to the bacon craze my boyfriend got the rococookies which was 3 small dark chocolate chip cookies that were infused with bacon and 2 small chocolate mousse cups on the side. The premise was that the cookies were supposed to be dipped into the mousse, and together they were supposed to taste like a chocolate malt from days of old. Together they did taste just like a chocolate malt, however; I never tasted any of the bacon that was supposed to be infused into the cookies. It was completely undetectable to me at all, but overall a good dessert. I am a complete sucker for anything creme brulee (as long as it's not chocolate), so I opted for the green tea creme brulee. You won't find that one on the menu, but if you ask, and they have it when you're there it's definitely worth the order! It was nice and light, and didn't sit heavily on your belly after a killer meal. It was infused throughout with a little pineapple which added to it, without being overpowering. Overall I would say my experience was EXCEPTIONAL and I can't wait to go back for another special occasion. I may just make one up just to go soon! Joshua, our server, was beyond fabulous with extensive knowledge of the menu as well as ins and outs of different items. He was able to make great suggestions, that we ended up loving. He also took tons of pictures for us (since my boyfriend hates 95% of the pictures he takes we had to redo). The ambiance of the entire restaurant was sophisticated, romantic, and cozy. You really feel like you're part of the family from the moment you walk through the door!

Very impressive evening! So glad my boyfriend took me out to celebrate my birthday. We enjoyed grass fed filets, so tender and delicious! Our sever was so helpful and lead us in the right direction in making our choices. We paired our dinner with amazing wine and dessert. This place will be on the top of our list!

The restaurant is beautiful. The wait staff is on top of everything and are very friendly. The food was delicious. We had goat cheese pie, tuna, and seafood platter for appetizers. For dinner I had the 14 Oz aged ny strip and he had the 16 Oz ribeye.. The steaks were amazing. The place is pricey but well worth it. We spent $270 for two people with dinner and appetizers

For the price you would think they would cook it the right way. Most everyone in the group got there's cooked at least on leaves more than the order. A rare is supposed to be cool on the inside. Also I thought there was way to much salt on the meat. The asparagus and quinoa sides were good with aw some flavor.

This is a good place for a steak. This is also a good place for wine. My husband and I would probably rank the TB Bay Area steak places as follows: 1. Berns 2. Eddie V's 3. Rococo One thing we liked about Rococo was the large parking lot. It was a breath of fresh air to not have to valet park. The restaurant is huge! The bonus is that it was easy getting a last minute table. Service was quite good. Our waiter was attentive and polite, and he had the back up of the sommelier and a couple bus boys. They made sure my water glass and wineglass were full and that plates were cleared promptly. My husband started with the New England clam chowder. He thought it was phenomenal. It was very creamy, and the clams were so sweet and fresh. I had the bacon spicy caesar salad. I loved the large chunks of bacon (although I wish they weren't cold) and the spicy dressing. For our main courses, I had the prime rib, and my husband had the NY strip. Both were so good, very tender, perfectly cooked. I thought the crust of my prime rib was a little too salty. The vegetable garnish was perfect: I don't remember having carrots so good. Also, we shared the whipped potatoes. They were ridiculously tasty. For dessert, my husband had the cookies with malted cream. Oh, were those cookies good. I had the bread pudding, which was good but not great. I liked the crispy salt, but I found the bread a little dry. I wish the frozen custard on the online menu was available, but I was told that they do not have a freezer so do not serve ice cream. Please take that off your online menu, Rococo, and stop breaking my heart! The cocktails we tried were excellent. The wine list is excellent. It's probably the best list in Pinellas County. We had a 1973 rioja for only $100, and it was quite drinkable.

Totally worth the drive from Tampa! I have now been there several times. The food has consistently provided us with an exquisite experience. Dishes are just a level above in terms of the extra blend of flavors, the little extra thing that is going to make your gustative experience different and interesting. The interior and atmosphere are on the trendy side and the staff welcoming from the door step, knowledgeable, fun and customer oriented. They have a second floor for private parties that can accommodate groups of every size. It has proven to be convenient and easy to organize for successful entertainment for my friends' birthday parties and other occasions. Yes, it's 5 stars!

Enjoyed this one if just for the location and feel of the place. The ambiance was nice and it looked more spacious than I thought. The bar could be a bit bigger maybe? But it wasn't cramped at all. Went in for drinks and appetizers. The wines were nice. The apps were fresh and good but not spectacular. The jello shot dessert was interesting but maybe less than desirable in the end. I might have expected a bit more from this place in the food realm, to be honest, but maybe I didn't pick the right things from the menu. The folks next to me had a completely different food choice that liked fabulous (steak and a variety of vegetables) - maybe I'll come hungry and try that next time. All in all the staff were very good and knew their stuff. I'd like a do-over in the food realm if just for an excise to return to the bar for some more lovely wine.

Rococo Steak we were told last night has had a new Chef for less than three months and it shows! While I had eaten there after opening 3 or 4 times --- it was always good, not great or great not super fantastic. For what you are paying I think most would find this unacceptable. Well last night was the perfect 10 meal I had been hoping for. In the beginning I think Rococo was a little too ambitious --- trying so much to be an atypical steak restaurant while missing some of the nuances that people really love in a traditional steak restaurant. Any which way they seem to have worked all of that out. Last night everything from the creamed spinach, potatoes, crab, lobster and steak that my table had was to perfection. So glad to see that they've also re-arranged the layout of the dining room...it is now expanded to add capacity but also intimacy with the new table arrangement. Their vino selection is incredible too. Wish they'd encourage more of a lively bar scene - I think they'd reap the benefits of it. Anyway we'll be back and we're loving the new touches as a young restaurant adjusts.

The red head female bartender who was working Tuesday night was completely unfriendly and did not seem to know her job. She did not know how to make simple drink orders. In addition she had the nerve to ask us if we would tip in cash so she would not be taxed. We mentioned this to the manager, but he was uninterested and dismissive. We chose to eat somewhere else after that.

Rococo is a very high-end steakhouse. It is located in a beautiful, old building that served as the YWCA for years and a funeral home before that. The bar is great with some interesting and unique choices on the drink list. I would happily hang out there anytime. Service is excellent. The servers are very knowledgeable about the menu and are helpful with choices. The food items are pricey and everything is ala carte. While everything we had was good to very good, nothing stood out or was excellent. At these prices I think that at least a few of the dishes should have risen to the excellent range. Portions were surprisingly generous. One side of a starch and one of a vegetable could easily be shared by 3-4 people. Appetizers and salads and desserts were the same. Would I go back? Probably not for a blow-out meal. But I would go to the bar and enjoy the drinks and some bar food and sharable appetizers.

First time to Rococo's. The food was excellent. Started with the bacon flight, because why wouldn't you, then had the wedge salad. For the main course, it was the 10oz grass fed filet with creamed spinach and whipped potatoes. The service was good but not great and the atmosphere is just ok. I am sure we will return at some point but since we are new to St Pete we are certain there are other places to try before coming back here.

It was good, but not exceptional. The waiter was terrific and it was also great to have an option between corn and grass fed beef. Not sure I would go here again considering the price, but all three of us thought the meal was good (not mind blowing amazing). I think I just find myself comparing it to other steak places and they haven't met the standards to other places that are exceptional.

Visited Rococo last night with my girlfriend and had a great experience. Ambiance and feel were very pleasant, with playful art, although it was a little dark for me. Our server, Josh, had a strong rapport with us and was quick to tell us about his recommendations, the history of the building, and more, with strong back waiters who kept the trains running on time while he spent personal time with each of his tables. On to cocktails! I had the Port of No Return, which on paper is a whiskey cocktail, but I think was designed for people who don't really like whiskey. It was delicious, but if I could do it again I might go for the old fashioned. My girlfriend had the Texas Mule, which was a pretty standard Moscow Mule with Tito's vodka, but it did come in a neat little Tito's frosted mug. For wine: brought our own bottle because we looked on the wine list ahead of time and saw several bottles that I've served in fine dining restaurants in New Orleans marked up to double the price I used to sell them at. Sorry Rococo, I just won't. Highly recommend this option, for anyone who doesn't want to pay designer prices for mediocre wines. $25 corkage fee is still less than their markup on every bottle I checked. Sidebar over, let's talk food! On Josh's recommendation, our first choices were creamed corn and the mac and cheese - both were good; light creamy sauce on the mac and cheese was well complimented by the flavorful bread crumb crust. GF had 8oz prime rib, I had NY Strip, both med. rare. I was very happy with my choice - perfectly cooked to temp, tender with an outstanding char on the crust that locked in the juices. The prime rib was as tender as it gets, and what it lacked in flavor on it's own was set off au jus. Contrary to some other reviewers, I thought this had just the right amount of salt to bring out the richness of the meat. Finished off with the dark chocolate creme brulee, which was very rich without being overly sweet. In short: 4 stars for the food (5 judging the steak alone), 3.5 for the drinks, and 5 for the rest of the experience.

This is a really cute/romantic place. Our server was super nice and super attentive, I didn't like seasoning on the grass fed filet, but the corn Fed filet was awesome. Oh! They have bacon appetizer it's really good, just reallllllyy greasy. There's nueske bacon the plate which I'd the God tier of bacon. The jello shots-adorable! They're like the famciest/ they give You vanilla sugar with them it was so good! I would totally come back and sit outside,

Definitely worth more than 5 stars! I had such a great experience from the entry way to the delicious bread and butter, fun appetizers, delicious entrees and the large wine menu. My new favorite thing are the truffle fries !!! They are a definite thing to try! They have a very tasty "Texas Mule" which I also highly recommend. The atmosphere of the restaurant is so captivating and the service was fantastic very helpful and informative. Check out the historic building and all of its deliciousness !!

This place was needed in Stpete. Tampa has Charlies and Berns, we didn't have anything to compete other than 400 Beach for seafood. Rococo is a unique place and the layout is from an old gym. The food is outstanding, the Wisconsin cheese curds with bacon is about all you need in this life or the next. Their wine selection is outstanding. The service is excellent. My only real complaints is sometimes it gets alittle dark in there.

  • Sean T.

Two trips to Rococo's has revealed: their grass-fed filet is consistently succulent; their wine list is expansive; their fresh French bread with honey butter is habit forming; the veuve clicquot by the glass pairs perfectly with their American caviar appetizer; their somm, Chris, knows his trade; and the service is friendly, from the valet to the valet, and all touch points in between. I'll recommend it to friends. I'll be back. And I'll look forward to it.

We dined here in May for my bday and had an excellent night. Seating is perfect and nicely arranged. The Prime Rib was outstanding, the bacon appetizer was delicious and the chocolate creme brûlée was to die for! The service was top notch, they even walked us out to our car with an umbrella. We will definitely be back!

Wow- I really wanted to rate Rococo at 5, but service issues dropped two stars, and in reality, should have dropped three. Our initial impression was lovely: beautiful decor and a gorgeous booth. Our server took a bit (about 10 mins) to greet us, but we assumed she had been double-sat, so enjoyed good conversation while we waited. Upon arrival, our server couldn't even name a 'red' beer on their list. She suggested Yuengling. After (finally) receiving our drinks, our server went to pour one of our guest's beer and spilled it all over him, the table and the floor. Foam everywhere. My tea totaling grandmother can pour better than that. A one time accident? No. All three subsequent beers spent most of their out-of-bottle experiences on the tablecloth or floor. Next up: the food. -Goat cheese pie? Phenomenal! -Entrees? Seriously decent. -Having my husband's dinner come out TWELVE MINUTES after we were all served with no explanation? Minus two stars. In fairness, the manager did comp my husband's meal which was very kind. TL;DR: for what Rococo is charging, I expect top-notch service, not foamy pours and cold fish. Avoid until the servers are better trained and the links are worked out.

Love the food here! The grass-fed filet mignon was cooked perfectly and could not have tasted any better. It melted in my mouth. The asparagus side was simple, but also delicious. Their cocktail olives are not good. Generally at a high-end steakhouse the olives are fantastic. The service is a little stiff, a few awkward moments. I think they want to present a fine dining experience, but maybe are a little green? But, that's quibbling. I will definitely return for the amazing steak. This is also a great spot for a romantic dinner, anniversary, etc.

This is how fine dining steak house should be. I'm a fan of Bern's and Charley's, and Rococo was up there with the best. We had a group of six and were given a huge table with plenty of room, despite the place being packed. Our server Josh was awesome and is extremely knowledgeable about the wine and the menu. I ordered the bacon sampler and I'm still smiling due to that. I think it consisted of wild boar, duck and your standard pig bacon, but I'm not sure which was what because we ate it so fast. I ordered the dry aged NY Strip along with the mac and cheese. First off, this is no run of the mill mac and cheese. This is as gourmet as mac and cheese can be. It was made with orecchiette that tasted handmade. Up there with some of the best mac and cheese I've had. The steak did not disappoint. It was cooked to absolute perfection and it was flavorful and juicy. Overall, it was a great experience. The staff is excellent and the building is beautiful. Rococo's is yet another reason to make your way to St. Pete if you live in Tampa.

Nice atmosphere. Steak was very expensive ( $40 and it comes with a half dollar size potato puff) but tasty. Bread, we were told, proudly, was flown in from France! We actually started to laugh in disbelief! First of all the bread was not that good. Second, that is ridiculous for so many reasons. I would suggest that they cut their expenses by baking their bread daily, in their own ovens and give the patron a baked potato with the steak. I know this is old steakhouse style: make side dishes "extra." However getting value for your money never goes out of style.

We have been wanting to try Rococo for awhile now and we finally decided to treat ourselves to dinner here. It was meant to be a romantic dinner and we made reservations ahead of time. Our experience was a little mixed, but mostly good. The Good: -Most of the food. Our entrees were outstanding! My Husband had a Ribeye and I had the Grilled Tasman Salmon. They were both perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. The Salmon was also HUGE. My Husband adds salt and pepper to almost everything and he did not reach for them once at Rococo. We also ordered the Artisinal Mac n Cheese and it was amazing and huge. We took home half of it. -The Service. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, full of suggestions and on the ball. In addition to our waiter we had a handful of people walking around checking on us and offering to refill our bread. Superb service. -The bread. I know other reviewers poke fun at the fact that they FLY in bread from France. It does seem ridiculous. However, the bread was dang tasty and much different from anything else I have ever had. I loved it. -The decor/ space. They did a fantastic job of converting the space from the old musty YWMCA. They obviously hired a professional to do the decor. It is perfect. It makes you feel more relaxed and comfortable (well, as long as you aren't on display in the middle of the floor...more on that in a moment). The "Meh": -Our Appetizer. We ordered the Goat Cheese Pie for an app because we were wanting to try something different. It was TINY and okay. The poached pears were served on the side of the plate and were not really cohesive to the dish. They also didn't taste as good as I thought they would. Not awful, but not great. I would not order it again. The Bad: -We were seated right as you walk in the door at an awkward out-of-place two person tiny table. The dining room is really tiny, but that is why I made a reservation. We had ZERO privacy and felt like we were on display to the entire room. We couldn't even have a conversation since there were always people on all sides of us (and some of the other guests were very rude and loud). -Our entrees were supposed to come with a purple potato puff (with the steak) and asparagus tips (the salmon). These were such a joke that they offended me to be on the plate. The purple potato puff was like a tiny deep fried ball that tasted bland. The asparagus tips were not tips at all. They were sliced left over asparagus pieces that totaled maybe one asparagus and were in some awful sauce that was so potent that it made the asparagus pieces inedible. Rococo needs to just nix these items and make everything a la carte. Thank goodness I ordered the Mac n' cheese so we had something to go with our steak/salmon. The Ugly: -The Hostess. She literally opened the door as we first turned onto the sidewalk and scowled at us the entire time we walked to the front door. Once we were in she gave us the once over TWICE (for the record..we were dressed up and fit in with the other patrons). So rude. Overall, we enjoyed our night out. We definitely learned some things to use at our next Rococo visit. 1. Ask to reserve a private table or booth when you make your reservations 2. Order a side or two knowing your protein is not coming with a side We will return to Rococo.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the steakhouse. The corn lobster bisque was amazing. Love the bread with honey butter. Service was excellent definitely give this restaurant a try

I was very excited to see a steakhouse come to St Pete. Now let me first start by saying, I had a great meal and will definitely return. However, I was a little disappointed (I will chalk up my complaints as a new restaurant). So let me start with the wine, they definitely have a great selection, now I am a little biased because they had my favorite wine which is hard to find. However, they have a very large selection. I was a little disappointed with the presentation/how I was served (they never poured a taste just a full glass and asked if I wanted a decanter) for the wine. I did mention to person and they seemed to take it to heart. Service was ok nothing to make me come back, but then again nothing to make me not want to come back. The food was great, I had a 6oz grass fed filet with kale chips. The steak and kale chips had great flavor and cooked to perfection. Both items were priced reasonably. Overall had a good experience missing the "wow factor" but I will definitely venture back.

Our first visit to Rococo.... We sat at the bar and Jason and Brian could not have been any more welcoming or attentive. Jason was very helpful selecting a wine.... He took his time letting me taste a few before I chose one. We ordered the Burger, truffle fries and the goat cheese pie... All very good. We enjoyed our experience very much and would love to go back and each on the veranda! (To cold last night)

A friend and I had cocktails there this past Friday night. I live two blocks away and wanted to check this place out I am so glad I did! The drinks were fabulous and our waitress was attentive and friendly giving us the history of building. She also explained the versatility of the menu, which is important because my friend is vegetarian and was confident there were plenty of options to choose from! Even though we had dinner reservations we could not resist trying the goat cheese pie, and it was delicious! I also nibbled on the Putin French fries... Amazing! We definitely be back for dinner!

First-time dining here tonight and it was perfect. Absolutely the best Cesar salad. Phenomenal filet mignon. Perfectly cooked, tender, and grass fed. Just perfect. We shared the broccolini and whipped Yukon gold potatoes. The ribeye was wonderful also. Staff is attentive and helpful. Ambiance is comfortable. Just the right lighting and music. Dessert didn't disappoint either. Salted caramel bread pudding... yum! Looking forward to another date night at Rococo!

Had a really great dinner here! The atmosphere and decor are fabulous. Cozy, funky, trendy, dark, romantic without being overbearing - we went with a group of 4 (me & 3 guys) and found it to be a really good experience. A little weird that on a Saturday night at 9 p.m. we were only one of three tables (maybe because the Rays were playing right down the road?) but it turned out fine. The service was fantastic. So attentive and thorough. The guys started with the bacon flight and all fell in love. I'm a vegetarian (but don't mind eating at steak houses because the sides & spuds are always good!) so started with the fresh tomato and burrata salad (oh my!). 2 guys had steaks that they said were cooked perfectly and terrific. My husband had the pork chop that he said was one of the best he'd had (outside of the ones he cooks for himself, of course!) We split several sides (asparagus with onions were delish!) I had a side of the truffle mac and cheese which was a HUGE portion and more than I could eat. A bit pricey, but it was a great dinner and we'll definitely go back for more.

Pretty solid steak place. It's nice to have one here in St.Pete instead of having to go to Tampa. Wish I had more to preview for you yelpers but my group of 4 kind of all gravitated to the same dishes. The special was the bone-in, dry-aged ribeye. Very good. For sides we had the lobster mac and cheese, butter poached wild mushrooms and truffle fries (which definitely did not have any truffle shavings whatsoever, unlike the menu description- and here is where it earned a 3 instead of 4 star). All very solid and exactly what you would expect of a high end steak house. Someone else chose the Poutine appetizer which was good, but it's kind of hard to mess up fries with gravy, bacon and cheese. What blew me away was the bacon flight. There was a traditional "American" bacon, but of very good quality, a wild boar bacon (disappointed that it tasted just like regular pork bacon) and the Duck Bacon. Wow, had a hard time imagining what cut could have produced this "bacon" but it was the clear favorite of all that night. Service was good and glad we asked for a booth on the quieter side of the restaurant because we could hear the other dining room where we were. God knows how loud it was over there. All steaks cooked to perfect temp. One order of grass fed filet seemed a bit dry but I think that's just the nature of that particular cut. I always go Delmonico where I can. Some things I wish I could have tried but didn't get a chance to this time around: Foie Gras Pain Perdue, sweet corn lobster bisque.

After hearing so many good things about Rococo Steak, my wife and I went there with 2 of our good friends. We had reservations for 8:30 and were seated right away. The building, originally the 1920's St. Petersburg YWCA, has been tastefully restored and has a nice feel. We began the evening sharing the Bacon Flight and Beef Carpaccio. Both were delicious and perfect for sharing! The waiter suggested a couple of nice glasses of wine and my friend ordered a Texas Mule (Tito's Vodka, Ginger Beer, Lime, served in a chilled copper mug) which I tried and it was great! On to the main course...The selection of steaks are impressive, featuring corn fed or grass fed Filet Mignon, dry aged NY strip, bone-in ribeye, and 8oz - 16oz Prime Rib prepared either slow roasted, house-blend herb rub, pan jus, with horseradish cream. There is also a nice selection of seafood, with pan seared Ahi Tuna, Miso Marinated Black Cod, and Wood Grilled Seasonal Salmon. I opted for the 14oz NY Strip, medium rare, and my wife the Salmon also medium rare. Both were cooked perfectly with a nice presentation. Our friends ordered the 7oz grass fed Filet Mignon and the 22oz bone-in Ribeye. Both cooked to perfection and delish! The sides are served family style and were shared. The butter poached mushrooms and the creamed spinach were fantastic, and the Rococo Whipped Potatoes were solid. Great wine recommendations were enjoyed by all. For dessert, the Rococookies, dark chocolate chip and BACON, with malted milk dip are...well...different! I'm not much of a desert guy, so I opted for a nice 20 yr. Tawny Port. So, to sum up our experience at Rococo Steak...Great atmosphere, great food, and excellent service! The good reviews are well earned in my opinion. Every course was prepared perfectly and very flavorful. The cost is in-line with a steakhouse of this pedigree. An outstanding dining experience. I will be back!!

I had a wine and cheese at the bar before attending a group dinner here. The bartender was friendly and they have a decent selection of wine by the glass. They have a lot by the bottle too. For the group dinner we had a pre-fixe menu and I had the swordfish, it was ok . . . not my favorite fish and I don't do red meat. Everyone raved about the steaks. The sides were very yummy, especially the mac & cheese. The prices are high for St Pete, but standard steak house with everything ala carte. The décor is nice and they have a large patio where our group sat. Inside is a tad small (intimate - cozy) and upstairs they have more private areas/rooms. Enjoy!

Pleasantly surprised by this find in St Pete. Had the rib eye which was good, apps very good including a nearly perfect fois gras. Wine selection is expansive and some great deals on the wine list.

The wine selection was fantastic. Probably my favorite part of the meal! Silver Oak by the glass is pretty rare. The ribeye was good, but I'm hard to impress considering my boyfriend can make an amazing steak at home for far less. The Mac and cheese with truffle was delicious. We also ordered the goat cheese app and the bacon app, nothing to write home about. I think it's worth visiting once but I probably will not be back as it is a little expensive for what it was. Oh and the PB pie was good but, again, nothing to write home about.

First time to Rococo Steak last night. Loved it. Modern, chic vibe with amazing service. Started at the bar with a variety of signature handcrafted cocktails all of which were fantastic. My favorite was the Cucumber Fresca with Don Julio Blanco, fresh muddled Cucumber, Lime & Agave... Started dinner with a selection of fresh Oysters, served on the half shell, with fresh Horseradish, Cocktail Sauce and Lemon. Delicious! I opted for the Gorgonzola Wedge as my salad and cleaned the plate, which is saying a lot considering the size of this Wedge! Couldn't have been better. For the main course, I went with the 16oz Bone-in Filet. First of all I was thrilled to see it on the menu as Bone-in Filets are hard to find. Cooked to perfection, again my plate was cleaned. Sides were all amazing as well. The wood grilled Asparagus & Artisanal Mac & Cheese were both perfect but my personal favorite was the Anaheim Creamed Corn with Anaheim Peppers, Sweet Onion & Chipotle. Ridiculous... Thanks for a wonderful evening, you will see me again soon!

This was a solid four. The food was absolute perfection but the experience left a lot to be desired in that it really wasn't an "experience". We were fed and on our way in less than an hour. I don't expect when I order food in a fine dining atmosphere that it will be on my table in less than 5 minutes which was the case with the carpaccio we ordered. As soon as we were done with that, our entrees were served. There was no time to relax, enjoy our drinks, etc. As long as they continue to hurry customers through in chain restaurant style, this place will never be a five. It's a real shame as the food was fantastic! I ordered the prime rib and Ben F ordered the filet...both were cooked exactly as we requested. My one complaint re the food was the size of the a la carte sides. I absolutely abhor food waste and these sides were large enough to feed a table of four; way too much for two people.

They try REALLY hard...but the place misses on several fronts. First of all, don't ever let them seat you upstairs. It's a different experience than any other place in the restaurant...and I don't mean a good different. Secondly, for the price, the food is just ok. Nothing wrong with it, per se, but I've certainly had better steak in St. Pete. The wine selection is huge with most bottles in the $85-$120 range. The sommelier attempted to decipher my description of my preferred wine...but missed miserably. That said...the staff are all SUPER nice, attentive, and very much trying to please. I would go back and make sure I get better seating - that alone may raise the review a star. PLUS...it JUST opened up. Here's to it seasoning and improving as it matures. I'm definitely rooting for the place!

Trendy. Menu is excellent. Lots of sides that were top shelf. The Anaheim cream corn was amazing. Mac n cheese w lobster luscious. Sweet potato was dark purple and sweet- wow! Wife had grass fed filet, cut it w a fork! I had bone in rib eye- delicious. Wine selection was great. Meritage went great w my steak. Desserts were crazy too. Chocolate crime brûlée w pot de creme, Carmel bread pudding and some choc peanut butter pie. We will be back! Nice to have this quality, trendy place on the St Pete sided the bay!

NB - this is not a full review. I did spend some time at the bar and had a very pleasant experience, I would go back just to grab a cocktail as the staff were efficient and pleasant and it was a very comfortable space. The event I attended featured some of the restaurant's appetizers and I do remember how large the shrimp were, there were the first things to leave the serving trays so I couldn't tell you how they tasted but no one was complaining. The layout of the old funeral home/YWCA is interesting and I think it's an ambitious and good use of the space. The menu looked a little pricey but no more so than some of the competition on the other side of the bay. So for ambience, decor and service give it a try. Enter from the west then you don't have to deal with the parking lot of the Brass Tap (not a fan)

Went in Jan to celebrate my husband's birthday.... excellent! Molly was our server; she was very helpful & patient. We were seated in a corner booth & found it very easy to carry on conversation with our party. Not sure if the same is true if seated in middle of dining room. Husband had grass fed filet -- perfectly cooked. I had Mac n' Cheese w/lobster...yum! Good selection of wine. I read mixed reviews, so I was very happy that our experience was very enjoyable. We will be adding Rococo to our list & will have no problem recommending to others.

You know you're in trouble when they start out asking what kind of water you'd like to order. It's a steak house but limited choices for non red meat eaters. Ambience was nice but it was nearly too loud to talk. Prices seem excessive. With entrees ala carte, sides were over priced. nOverall . It's a beautiful restaurant, but not sure I would go back. A bit pretentious and not the value of other fine dining restaurants in St. Pete.

Great food and great service. Waiter suggested grass fed steak (vs corn fed) and it was excellent. Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Seasonal salad was fresh and tasty. Apps and sides were delish and Chocolate Creme Brulee was to for. I had heard mixed things prior to going but I was impressed and will definitely go back.

I am only giving it 4 Stars because I did not eat the steak. I was meeting some friends downtown St. Petersburg and had an hour to spare so I decided to drop in and have a drink and a appetizer. Well, the drink turned into a few thanks to their great wine selection which is 5 Stars. I had the tuna and salmon tartare and after that was finished the truffle fries were calling my name. I will definitely be coming back to try the main menu.

The first time we came to this restaurant the cocktails and sides were phenomenal but the steak missed the mark. It can happen. We were asked to come back and we had a great dinner. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly. It's up there with the best steak I've ever had (my husband's). The sides are my favorite! Get the sweet potatoes. Wonderful service too.

I was really looking forward to this place because we haven't had a good steakhouse in St. Pete for years and I'd heard this was on par with Bern's in Tampa. The dining room was tiny, but the bar area looks nice. After we were seated, it took about 10 minutes and my significant other going to look for our waiter for someone to come over to the table. The menu was interesting with some unique choices like antelope and wild boar. Since we were not starving, we ordered the 16 oz. filet to share, and asparagus and the truffle fries. Also tried to order the mushrooms ($10 for a side!) but were told they were out of them. Things a steakhouse should NEVER run out of: Mushrooms or onions. The fries were good although Z Grille still has the best truffle fries in town. We told them we were sharing so they split the steak in the kitchen. I'd rather them do this table side since immediately upon slicing a steak the juices run out, and it kind of ruins the presentation of the whole steak if they cut it in back. The steak was good although not the best I've ever had...and well cooked although it didn't look like a 16 oz steak. It was served, as others have mentioned, on these strange cafeteria tray/cookie sheet type plates which we thought a little odd. The waitstaff needs work. Both our waiter and bread boy seemed flustered when they spoke. Greet customers and get drink orders as soon as they are seated, or don't seat them until you are able to. Our bill was $125 for 1 steak and 2 sides, and 3 glasses of wine total. Pretty pricey considering I've gotten out of Bern's before for $125 with an appetizer, 2 steaks, 4 glasses of wine, and 3-4 sides - plus Bern's serves you a salad and more accompaniment than just a potato puff. So...I'm saying it was just okay. Pricey for what it is, and the service and food was not at a 5 star level even though they are charging 5 star prices. It was also my birthday which the BF told them but they never did anything special. If I come back, I will sit at the bar and have a drink and maybe a burger...although even that is $18 so it had better be the best damn burger I've ever had...

My husband and I were looking forward to dining at Rococo Steakhouse and I will say right off, the food was good. Just not good enough to go back. I have seen a new trend in restaurants and I don't get it or like it. Too dark and too loud. I like Led Zeppelin, Billy Idol and Tears for Fears but not for dinner music. Is this a bar or a restaurant? And the lighting? Seriously, we couldn't see the menu. The tiny votives on the table were not enough. It made it very difficult to order. Our server was nice, but weird; hovering when we didn't need him and then disappearing (not for too long) when we did. Most of the food was delicious but as others have said, too pricey. One comment about the prices, it seems they are reasonable until the sides/accompaniments are added. Then it gets out of hand, quickly. The Caveman Salad was very good and the grass fed mignon steak was cooked correctly. Also 9 0z prime rib was good but with a chimichurri topping I didn't ask for, however, it could have been described on the menu...we just couldn't see it! Asparagus was raw -- not al dente, just raw. So all in all, not worth it to go back and I am sorry to write this, it sounded like a cool idea. One question, why is the restaurant importing bread from France?? Weird. Also the Brass Tap is NOT affiliated with the restaurant. My husband and I were finishing our drink from the restaurant when the bartender came over to inform us "we are not affiliated with them." Our waiter had to retrieve our glasses. Ooops, sorry.

Wife and I went to check this place out and it did not disappoint. The service was a little slow but very friendly and considering they just opened I'm sure they will tighten that up soon. The food was fantastic and the wine selection was reasonably priced and chosen wisely. We had a couple of cocktails mine was a Kentucky mule served in a chilled brass mug, and she had a desert rose, both were fantastic. We decided to split the poutine Rococo and the 40oz porterhouse with a bottle of 1979 Simi cab. The poutine was fun and tasty and the porterhouse was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The cab was silky and jammy with a perfect amount of tannins to break up the fat from the steak. I will say that the design stole the show, this place is great for a date or a nice quiet dinner,

Impressive. This place has been open less than a week, but the atmosphere, staff and food were that of a restaurant open for ten years. We made reservations for 6:15, and we were seated the moment we arrived. No fiddling with the seating system or looking for open tables. The hostesses are well trained, open the door and smile when you walk in. The moment we sat down, our waiter and his team proceeded to kick ass. Mark knew the menu top to bottom, helped us make quick selections: wine, lobster and more lobster. We got the bisque. All three were remarkable. And their wine list has the depth and range of an opera. My wife was in heaven. It's a steakhouse, so we ordered steak. The 16oz bone in fillet is well worth the $44. It came exactly as requested. Medium plus. My wife ordered the slow roasted NY strip (prepared similar to prime rib), and it was awesome. She loved the unique flavor and tenderness. We're in to finishing with sweets, so we ordered the bread pudding. And damn. It's the best I've ever had. It's close to a custard without the chunks of dry bread found in most other attempts. And it's drizzled in caramel. Love comes in two pieces. We came. They rocked. We'll be back. I highly recommend this joint.

Opening weekend for a fresh new steak place in St Pete. Located in the old YMCA building a bit away from the downtown congestion but least parking is ample. The space is great with nice ambiance and cool music. Outdoor and indoor seating, inside is not too cramped and the decor is cool. Now for the food - I really thought it was great! Had the wild boar which was fantastic, not too gamey and portion size was just right. Wife had the grass fed filet which was awesome except at 6oz was way too small even for her. Daughter had Mac and cheese with lobster thrown in which was yummy. She also enjoyed the domestic caviar and ate it all. Their wine list needs work, mostly mid level selections, they need some more lower end and higher end selections and all of them were by the glass. Their specialty cocktails also need work, just a few and all seemed uninteresting. The staff were great, they were all nicely dressed and very professional. Our waiter Quinten was exceptions land friendly. It's a nice new trendy place, It should do well. I will definitely go back, I want to try the BBQ duck and get some more if that grass fed beef. This is a must go place, I only see it getting better.

Very nice ambiance inside. We ate inside, but the outside dining looked really nice as well. We ordered the goat cheese pie which was delicious. It was similar to a quiche, very light with great flavor. The corn bread served at the table with honey sea salt butter was also very good. We ordered the gorgonzola wedge salad which wasn't bad but not great. It was spicy which doesn't do it for me in a starter salad. For dinner we split the New York Strip and the burger. The burger was really good, had a lot of great toppings and the meat was soft and cooked perfectly. The New York Strip was a little dry. We ordered it medium but it came out more of a medium well. The gorgonzola topping helped add some moistness back. The mac and cheese and creamed spinach were great accompaniments to the dish. I would give this place 5 stars but the NY strip didn't meet my expectations, and considering it is a steakhouse that should have been top on my list.

I have now eaten here 3 times. I had great hopes when I first heard about it because St Pete has really been in need of a good upscale steak restaurant. Unfortunately, I will probably not return. I expect a good steakhouse to be expensive, but when a party of 4 has a pre-dinner cocktail, shares one modest bottle of wine, 2 appetizers, one couple splits an entree, and the bill before tip is $550, we are talking Manhattan prices! Additionally, when buying wine by the glass, they have the smallest pour of anyplace I know of in this area. The steaks are good, but certainly not exceptional for a restaurant specializing in them. In short, we are still better off traveling to Tampa for a better and more reasonable steakhouse experience. Two and a half stars is my disappointed rating. Sam N.

My company recently hired Rococo for our annual gala at the Mahaffey Theatre, St Petersburg. They did an AMAZING job! Our guests raved about the food and desserts! I grew up in the restaurant and catering businesses, and I consider myself a "foodie." The food that was prepared and served was top quality. We will hire them again next year. If you are looking for a caterer for your next event, look no further, Rococo is the real deal, and they have just raised the bar for caterers in the St Petersburg area. THANK YOU!

Dinner was great. Martini was excellent though an ounce short of full. Bourbon water was in small glass, second Bourbon n water was proper In larger glass more whiskey. Ordered corn fed filet mignon. Asked for Pittsburg black blue. It was alittle dry. Bone in 22 oz. rib eye was perfect. Might try bone in 16oz filet mignon next. Service was great. T Bert.

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday, and I must say, the dinner was spectacular. I recently started my career after graduation, but was a highly touted fine dining server in Miami (on this site as well as opentable), so I know what I am talking about when I say that our server, David, was one of the best servers I have ever had the pleasure of dining with. While it took a while to get to us initially (the room was packed) he more than made up for it with his personable nature and friendly service. On to the meal, I have dined at Ruth Chris', Berns, and Flemings multiple times, and this is still better steak and accompaniments than I have had anywhere else. We had carpaccio and the spicy Caesar salad, and they were both perfectly flavored, not too intense but exquisitely prepared. For the steaks, I ordered the ribeye and my girlfriend got the grass-fed filet- the filet melted in your mouth and the ribeye was perfectly marbled and incredibly flavorful- both were cooked perfectly as well. Even the quinoi side dish was incredible. For dessert we got the creme brulee, and I could not have asked for a better capstone for our meal. Also, don't forget the massive wine menu (it even includes a table of contents) so you can try literally any varietal you could possibly want. All in all, it was the perfect evening with the best food, service, and overall experience I could have ever hoped for. I will definitely return, as I believe this is my new go to restaurant for special occasions. If I could give 6* I would! BRAVO!

Wow! Just had our wedding at Rococo Steak and it was fabulous! Can't think of a better venue in St. Pete to host an intimate ceremony and dinner. Our guests are still raving about the delicious food and impeccable service. The outdoor patios were perfect for both the ceremony and cocktail hour. The private dining rooms and adjoining bar presented the perfect space for our guests to leisurely dine and mingle to their heart's content. If you are looking for that perfect spot for an upcoming wedding or that special party, you should take the time to check out Rococo Steak. You won't be disappointed.

I had on my wish list to visit since I found out a steak house was opening on one of my favorite buildings in Downtown St Pete, the old YWCA. My wish came true on my Birthday. I was NOT disappointed. I love my steak to be medium and most of the time I get slightly overcooked in other restaurants, but NOT on Rococo. They did a great job. I had the Slow Roasted NY Striploin. It takes 25 minutes to prepared very good, and for the side we tried Butter Poached Mushrooms. YUMMY... Just Yummy. After a day of eating there, I am still savory those tasty mushrooms. My server was amazing, she was very attentive to every detail. The guy how brought us the bread too. I didn't try the cocktails because I wanted to try a good wine from their extensive and impressive wine collection from the best places in the world. Imagine how happy I was. I have heard mixed reviews on the service and food, but my experience was superb.

I rate on value. If a ten dollar place serves me a twenty dollar meal that is going to help a rating. Likewise if a 100 dollar place serves me a 30 dollar meal, I take that into account, as well. Ate there last week. It had an inside jail/prison feel. The waiters reminded me of prison guards. A few even joked about it. When the dinner came it was on a plate that one would get in a prison cafeteria line - complete with a cellularized corner to keep your cream of corn or gravy from spilling on your fried chicken. I can't say that I liked the jail feel - it was the uniforms and dark dreary trays, nothing else, but is was unsettling. Overall, the atmosphere was difficult to take in, once the dark lighting, prison outfits and prison food trays overshadowed the rest. Trust me, this place has all the bones it takes to be fantastic. The wait staff was quite excellent as far as service. One issue on service - it was almost too much - like I had to take attention away from my date and pay attention to the staff. It was pricy. The a la carte items really took the ticket up. The potato puff is a singular bit about the size of a tater tot, only fluffier in texture. One bite and it's gone. Most importantly, the steak -- I ordered a five ounce grass fed filet - It came cooked medium, which was severely overdone (dry) to me and was unremarkable. Competent in a Sizzler or Denny's, but not at these prices. My date ordered the corn fed filet and it was also overdone and indistinguishable from the grass fed. I mean completely so - taste, texture, everything. They have some learning to go. Get rid of the prison guard uniforms and prison plates and learn how to cook a steak to temperature. Then call me.

Fabulous all around! The place is gorgeous but, more importantly, definitely delivers on food, wine and service. We sat at the bar and were greeted pleasantly and promptly by the bartender. Upon receiving my glass of red wine, I was thrilled to discover it was perfectly chilled. The food was beautifully presented, prepared perfectly and absolutely delicious. Service was attentive and accurate. Rococo goes above and beyond on all fronts. Fantastic evening!

Must try the Turkish Rose Martini! Our meal was outstanding and the service was impeccable. Probably the best service my husband and I have had in St. Pete in a very long time. I had the 16 oz grass fed filet and the hubs had the bone-in filet along with a side of the Peruvian purple potato purée which was more than enough for the both of us to share. We will definitely return to sample more of the menu!

We went a few weeks ago. Wednesday night in the bar, so there wasn't any crowd. Agree with the others that the decor of the restaurant is strange. Looks like some combo of Bern's/Adam's Family, but I liked the atmosphere in the bar and the steak was the best I've had on this side of the bridge. Bone-in ribeye, Pittsburg Style. Cooked perfectly and the quality of the meat was fantastic. I don't think you can expect to get that quality for less money. The sides/salads were less appealing to me, but I'll definitely be back for the steak.

First time eating at Rococo, terrific service from Josh. Nice by the glass wine selection and the food was excellent. Music doesn't suit the restaurants atmosphere.

11/15/13 Disappointing can't even touch how bad our dinner was. Walked into the pretentious dining room so overstuffed by tables that chairs were hitting chairs while seated. By the grace of God we were told they had tables outside that were open. Outside seating was very comfy - deuce tables were SMALLER then the one's at Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant - now that's a SMALL table! We ordered Ruby Red Martini's..they were good however, I like vodka in my Martini..how about you? If there was 1/2 a shot of Vodka in them I would be surprised. We were promised some lovely warm french bread by our server - who was a very pleasant woman, and knowledgeable regarding the menu. 20 minutes later...still no bread...we asked a 2nd time. 10 minutes later 1 of the 5 young lads running around in a tuxedo like uniform approached us with a small basket covered with a black towel...from which he pinched the tiniest and ( 1 ) piece of sliced French bread with his pretentious ice tongs and placed 1 piece on each of our plates! REALLY??? Guys, if you can't afford to give your guests there own loaf/portion of bread - take it off the menu. After finishing the 1 piece of bread ...another little lad ran up to our table in his tuxedo like uniform and removed our bread plates! No people...you may not have 2 pieces...must be against the rules. Ahhhh but it will be worth it when we get our slow roasted /aged strip steaks! 65 minutes later - our steaks arrive...on a huge rectangular plate - appearing like a anorexic - thinly sliced piece of flesh - which was twisted up at the ends due to either the CUT or GRISTLE or BOTH!? It was Luke Warm at best, more cold then warm actually. Cutting this ridiculous twisted piece of meat was as difficult as if I were attempting to fillet a Sheep's Head (the fish not the four legged one) with a butter knife...IMPOSSIBLE! The strings of gristle / tendons laughed at my steak knife. Then the chew....If I did not have TMJ before attempting to eat this chewy cold flesh riddled with tendons I DID NOW! It was not edible. Really? We just waited 65 minutes for the alleged SLOW ROASTED / COLD /AGED NY STRIP? Yes people this place is 100% Fraud. I can tell you the meat is not what is as described, the prices are sky high and the booze..well....it's either watered down or they just plain cheat with their alcohol pours. We asked to speak with the manager - who fits in perfectly as he was just as pretentious and fake as the restaurant. He smiled, said he was sorry (with his hands folded)...you could absolutely tell he was not listening to one complaint we were saying ....just nodding and probably thinking about who he was meeting at Georgies later. We tipped our server directly as we left...by the way the manager intentionally turned his back to us as we walked 2 feet from him upon leaving. Do yourself a favor - go to TEXAS CATTLE COMPANY, or LONGHORN, or CHARLIES STEAK HOUSE... SAVE YOUR MONEY and DON'T GO HERE if you want a good diner...and bread with your meal!!!

Great food! Excellent service! Beautiful old home redone for fine dining pleasure. Would go back to celebrate there again. Their steaks are delicious and so are their seafood dishes. Great accompaniments also.

Just had our second dinner at Rococo and both have exceeded expectations. The quality of the food, both in concept and execution, is just a cut above the vast majority of what St. Pete has to offer--and yes you pay a little more for it, but every dish I have had there has been amazing. I have tried all of the high end restaurants in St. Pete and several in Tampa Bay (and have lived around the world in several big cities), but I don't go for fussy food that's trying too hard--I want yummy, at a reasonable price. Ambiance: On our first visit we were seated at a table near the bar which we weren't crazy about--they have now redesigned the space so those tables aren't there and pretty much all of the tables now are well placed. The space has a funky retro modern feel but is laid back at the same time--love it. Service: I think they were still working on this at first but it was flawless last night. The food and drink: The menu is varied and if you don't want steak there are plenty of other options--fish, seafood, duck, venison, my boyfriend had lamb last night which he really enjoyed. Some reviewers have complained that the menu doesn't have traditional steakhouse dishes...I scratch my head at that because a) it's clear Rococo is deliberately NOT trying to be a traditional steakhouse and b) if you do want your mashed potatoes and asparagus, they are on the menu. I had the Turkish Rose cocktail to start on our visit last night--highly recommend. Both visits I have had soups to start: the lobster bisque is to die for silky and flavorful. I had a creamy yellow tomato gazpacho last night which was equally wonderful and a really creative spin on an old classic. All of us had steak on the first visit and I had the 7 oz grass-fed filet last night--it was excellent. You really do need to order a side or two to go with, and all of the sides are amazing and can be split four ways at least. The creamed corn is particularly good but all of the sides we have tried have been great. For those worried about portion sizes on the meat: I thought my filet (smallest cut on the menu) was perfect--with the soup and the sides as well I had no room for dessert. We did split a cheese plate (very good) as well. Going with a group of four keeps the tab down because the sides are so big (wish they would do a half portion for couples). The wine list is massive with many pricey selections but there are plenty of wines in the $40-80 range. We had a very good Rhone for $60. Bottom line: great restaurant for steak but so much more than a steak restaurant--a welcome addition to the St. Pete scene.

Just another high priced gimmicky restaurant. I think the chef (if there is one) called in sick. The steak was overdone & had to be sent back, my water glass came dirty, the truffle fries were greasy & swimming in some kind of melted cheese, the one slice of bread (from France) was dry and the recycled butter with honey & sea salt was unappetizing. The presentation of the food on the prison plate was underwhelming. This steak restaurant cannot compare with Ruth Chris.

Dined here Saturday evening, Nov. 9. Decided to sit outside, as it was very loud inside. They will need to do something about the acoustics. It was a nice cool evening; perfect for sitting out front on the terrace. The setting was nice and inviting, but too dark to read the menu and the piped in music was too loud to have conversation without yelling. Asked waiter to turn it down, and he did. Waiter was nice, but lacked experience for a high end restaurant. We brought our own wine ($25 corkage), watched as he struggled to open the bottle (thought he was going to tear the cork on the $150 cab) and finally he got it. The request for a decanter was met with a blank stare. We ordered our steaks and salads. The food was excellent; well prepared and presented nicely. I can see it will take some time to work out some service, inside noise and lighting details, but they are new and deserve a chance. The food alone will bring me back.

Have been three times already. It's high-end cuts of steak, so it's not low prices, but the value is fantastic. It's the least expensive great steakhouse around. I've never seen a 16oz bone-in filet mignon that is less expensive (and they do an incredible job with it). Steaks and sides are fantastic. A la carte style steakhouse may just always seem expensive to some. The wine list is AWESOME value and huge. Music and atmosphere rock. It reminds me of hip steakhouses like STK in NYC or BOA in Hollywood. Definitely something different and really elevates the dining scene in St. Pete. Great to see a hip steak place in town that isn't so stuffy.

We were here on a Friday night with some friends. The service was fantastic. Our waitress was there whenever we needed her. The wine list is quite good. I chose an Australian wine and it was great. Each of us chose something different for appetizers and entrees. I chose a chef salad which was great and for the entrée a club steak. Another had the cioppino which was a special that night. It looked chock full of fish. In her case she decided to have the 6 oz filet. It looked small but having had the very filling cioppino, it was probably enough. The two of us shared the mac' n' cheese which was very creamy and delicious. Another in the party had the goat cheese pie with a prime rib. He had the creamed chipotle corn which he said wasn't very spicy. Another had the NY strip which was terrific and as a side the mushrooms. Each of these sides are good enough for 2-3 people to share. I had the chef salad with a club steak. The only problem I had was that one quarter of the club steak was too fatty and gristly. Inedible. But at that point I was already filled to the gills. None of us had any dessert due to all the food we had. I think this place is terrific for streak lovers. A small note, if you ask for salt, you will be given a small dish with 4 different salts on it. Amazing. It was terrific. This was a perfect evening if ever there was one. Wish we had a Rococo back in NJ.
